Fall Festival with Central Michigan University Students

Over the weekend of October 19th & 20th, a group of five college students from Central Michigan University’s Alternative Breaks Program (CMU) volunteered at the Child Advocacy Center of Lapeer County (CAC Lapeer) marking the fourth year in which we have partnered with the University. This year, the CMU students were also able to participate in our Fall Festival! The students helped Lapeer County children paint pumpkins, create bracelets and necklaces, color festive coloring sheets, play games, watch festive movies, and more! The children seemed to have a blast with the students! A huge thank you to these CMU students, to Fick Farms , Past Tense , Cider Mill
, LJs’ Farm Market , Kara Carmack for donating pumpkins, cider, and donuts for the festival! It was a huge success! The kids decorated pumpkins, created monster bags, decorated “thankful leaves”, played festive games and had plenty of yummy festive treats to eat. We couldn’t have done this without Central Michigan University ‘s Alternative Break Students volunteering their time this weekend to support our CAC.
