Child Abuse Prevention Month

On April 1st, in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, The Child Advocacy Center of Lapeer County held a pinwheel garden planting day at the Lapeer ELGA Credit Union. The pinwheel is the nationally recognized symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention. CAC Lapeer’s Multidisciplinary team, including Lapeer County’s Prosecutor’s Office, CAC staff, Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department, Lapeer City Police Department, Michgian State Police Department, and community members gathered at Gallery 194 and the Lapeer ELGA Credit Union for the Pin Wheel Planting Ceremony in hopes of spreading awareness about child abuse.  Also, during the month of April the blue pinwheels were represented around town and our Pinwheels for a Purpose Garden window was displayed at Gallery 194! Thank you to all who participated in spreading awareness!
